In One Flute Note (2012), Burrows and Fargion continue their dialogue with the structure of John Cage’s Lecture On Nothing, beginning as Cage does: ‘There is nothing to say, and I am saying it.’ They pay homage to and question a way of thinking that has underpinned so much dance and performance over the last thirty years. One Flute Note is a meditation on memory and music, which generate accumulating worlds of sound and action out of a single event.
